This is a finely ground biochar powder for mixing into animal feed. It works fairly well with dry food, but it will stick better with wet food. It can also be administered by mixing in drinking water.

What is Biochar?

Biochar is agricultural-grade activated charcoal. It’s made from recently living organic matter that has been thoroughly burned in a low-oxygen environment to create a crystalline-carbon structure with minimal ash content. My biochar is produced from my coppice lot of landrace varieties of maples, oaks, poplar, beech, and ironwood trees. It’s heated to between 850 and 1150 degrees until fully pyrolyzed.

How Does it work?

In animals, it works just like activated charcoal capsules do. It binds both trace toxins from mold and agricultural chemical residue within the gut. This greatly benefits healthy and proper gut-function, which improves immunity, brain function, and hormone regulation.

Directions for use:

  • For livestock: add 1/2 pound of fully dried powder to 100 pounds of feed. Offer feed as normal.
  • For garden soil: sprinkle 1-gallon over 50 square feet and rake it into the topsoil.
  • For potting soil: use at 10-20 percent of total volume, or as a direct replacement for perlite and vermiculite.
